How does a shower toilet work?
A shower toilet combines a classic toilet with a bidet shower function. The water comes out of a shower arm with nozzles, which is concealed while the toilet is in use. After you have used the toilet, the shower arm extends at the touch of a button and gently cleans intimate areas with a gentle jet of water. Some models include a drying function.
A shower toilet uses fresh drinking water for cleaning, the same as is used for flushing the toilet. This water is of high quality in Germany and safe for intimate hygiene.
Good to know:
A shower toilet requires connections for both water and power. These are needed to operate the ComfortDry dryer function, water heating and the wall panel to control your shower toilet.
How do you use a shower toilet?
A shower toilet is easier to use than many people imagine. As it is a combined product, you start by sitting on the toilet as usual. After using the toilet, flush to clean the bowl and then press the button for the shower function.
The shower arms or nozzles now extend and cleanse intimate areas with a gentle jet of warm water. Many models offer a choice of programmed settings that allow you to decide exactly how you want the water to feel. After cleansing, the nozzles retract, leaving you feeling clean and refreshed
There is no need to use toilet paper afterwards. If your shower toilet has the ComfortDry dryer function, you can switch it on at the touch of a button for gentle drying with air. Otherwise, you can dry yourself with a soft towel. Then put the towel in the wash.
Why are shower toilets particularly hygienic?
Germs don't stand a chance with a high-quality shower toilet. Firstly, because your body is hygienically cleansed. The nozzles on the shower arm are also self-cleaning which ensures that no bacteria are left behind. ViClean shower toilets have a rimless design that avoids any build up of dirt over time. Villeroy & Boch shower toilets are also available with an antibacterial finish that saves you having to clean the toilet as often.
Advantages of shower toilets vs. conventional toilets
Shower toilets: the future of the bathroom
Shower toilets are becoming increasingly popular, and not just in modern Japan. To take your bathroom to a whole new level, Villeroy & Boch offers its own range of modern shower toilets: ViClean. Choose your ideal product from a choice of two models. The main differences are in the range of functions: the ViClean-I200 model includes a dryer function and a heated seat for enhanced comfort.
