Designing cosy bathrooms - tips & ideas

There are various ways to make your bathroom cosy. We'll tell you what's important:

Clever room layout

If you are lucky enough to own a freestanding bathtub, you can make it the centrepiece of the bathroom. However, the cosy style can also be implemented in simpler bathrooms. Partition walls and curtains separate different areas in the bathroom and can also be retrofitted.

Use warm colours in the bathroom design

Warm colours are just the thing for a cosy bathroom. But it doesn't automatically have to be dark. Orange, yellow and light red tones are also suitable for your bathroom. They create wonderful accents. Soft natural tones such as brown or beige are suitable as base colours. Sage or lavender are also natural colours that go well in a cosy bathroom.

Inspiration: Bathroom furniture

Some bathroom furniture is practical. This includes the vanity unit, for example. All kinds of things can be stored here in an organised manner. And tidiness is an important part of a cosy bathroom. Bathroom furniture made from natural materials is always the right choice when it comes to furnishings.

Wooden accents

Wood is one of the most popular materials for cosy bathrooms. Here too, of course, it depends on the colour. Choose warm and preferably dark woods that set accents. Many things are possible here: furniture in a wood look, but the floor can also be partially clad in wood to delineate individual areas.

How to make a small bathroom cosy

A small bathroom can easily be made cosy. Large-format tiles make a small, cosy bathroom look a little larger. They also give the room more tranquillity as there are fewer joints. A uniform colour scheme and lots of natural materials create a cosier feel.

Challenge: Making a large bathroom cosy

It can be difficult to create a cosy atmosphere in large bathrooms. An effective solution is to cleverly separate different areas, as already explained in the room dividers. Use different colours in the different areas to visually break up the space. Indirect lighting arrangements are also a good idea. They can be controlled individually so that you only illuminate the area in the bathroom that you use.

Create a relaxed atmosphere with warm light

The right light in the bathroom is essential for the right feel-good atmosphere. Daylight is of course the first choice, but not every bathroom has a window. This is where warm lighting comes into play. Indirect light sources provide atmospheric accents.
