Present towels in style: tips and advice

Towels can be folded beautifully in just a few simple steps. Folded or rolled towels arranged on a bathroom shelf will add a luxurious touch to your bathroom.

Should towels be folded or rolled?

Whether you simply fold your towels or shape them into rolls is down to personal preference. Rolled towels are decorative, compact and save space in a cupboard, drawer or on a bathroom shelf. Folded towels save space, but they can also slip and spoil the arrangement when you pull them out.

How to roll your towels hotel style

Spread the towel out on a flat surface. Fold one corner of the short side diagonally onto the long side to make a triangle. Then fold the towel in half lengthways and turn it over. Roll it from the underside towards the tip of the triangle. Finish by tucking this into the side of the roll to stop the towel unrolling.

Stylish ways to fold large towels

To fold large towels, we recommend you start by folding one edge of the towel towards the other edge. Then, while folding the bottom and top sides towards the centre, fold the right and left sides in just before the centre. Finally, fold the towel on itself along the gap.

How to fold towels to save space

Are you looking for a space-saving folding solution for your towels due to a lack of storage space in the bathroom? Rather than the classic square, fold a narrow rectangle instead. With this folding technique, the towel sides are folded inwards and can overlap. This makes the finished package narrower overall.

Decorative folding techniques

Decorative folding techniques can turn your towels into little works of art that will stand out beautifully in your bathroom or bedroom. You will find brief instructions for each folding technique below.

Folding a towel into a swan

Spread the towel out crosswise on a surface. Fold the top right and left corners inwards so that they meet in the centre. Roll the outer edges towards the centre. Then fold the resulting arrow into a ‘Z’ shape. Put this down and shape the corners into curves.

Folding a Towel Heart

Spread a large towel out on a surface and fold the right edge onto the left edge. Stick a pencil into the towel to mark the centre. Unfold the towel again. Starting from the mark, roll it up diagonally on the right and left sides.

Turn the towel over and lay the two upper corners rounded inwards. Finally, roll the rest of the towel around the inner corners.

The flower folding technique

To shape a towel into a flower, fold it in half. Then fold the four corners in towards the centre and carefully turn the towel over onto the other side. Hold it firmly with one hand and pull all four flowers upwards from the bottom.
