  • Final cleaning after construction includes intermediate cleaning, end-of-construction cleaning and deep cleaning.

  • Intermediate cleaning is carried out regularly during the project to remove construction waste and ensure safety on the site.

  • End-of-construction cleaning takes place once construction work is complete to clear up all construction waste and soiling.

  • Deep cleaning takes place after acceptance of construction work to ensure optimum cleanliness.

What is final construction cleaning?

Final construction cleaning is important to remove waste from a house or flat after completion of building, conversion or renovation work. This final clean of the construction site includes both interior and exterior areas. As well as eliminating contamination and waste, any harmful substances are also removed. A final construction clean can be divided into three phases: intermediate cleaning, end-of-construction cleaning and deep cleaning after completion of construction work.

What is involved in final construction cleaning?

  • Removal of mortar residue, paint splashes, drilling dust, joint sealants or protective films

  • Disposal of waste, rubble and pollutants

  • Cleaning of all surfaces such as walls, tiles, doors and windows

  • Maintenance of radiators and lighting

  • Cleaning and waterproofing of floor coverings

Deep cleaning after construction work: an explanation of responsibilities

Deep cleaning takes place after approval of construction work in order to make the newly renovated or converted spaces habitable and ready for occupancy. The last traces of dirt and dust are removed from all objects and surfaces to eliminate slip hazards and ensure safety. Tradespeople are responsible for cleaning their own area of work and removing coarse dirt after completion of the project. The detailed deep clean is then carried out by the owner or an external cleaning service provider.
