Ingredients:

• 250 g flour + some flour for the work surface
• ½ teaspoon baking powder
• 80 g sugar
• 1 sachet vanilla sugar
• 1 egg
• 125 g soft butter

Cut-out biscuit dough

Makes about 35 (may vary depending on the shape and size of the biscuit cutter)
Preparation time: 35 min. + 1 hour cooling time

Preparation:

1. Sieve the flour and baking powder into a bowl and mix. Add the remaining ingredients and knead quickly with your hands until the dough is homogeneous. Wrap the dough in cling film and chill for 1 hour.

2. Pre-heat the oven to 170 °C (top/bottom heat). Roll out the dough to about 3 mm thick on a lightly floured work surface and cut out into desired shapes (e.g. stars, hearts). The dough leftovers can be kneaded together, rolled out and cut out again.

3. Place the cut-out biscuits onto a baking tray lined with baking paper and bake in the oven for approx. 10 minutes until golden brown, making sure that the biscuits do not get too dark. Take the tray out of the oven and leave the biscuits to cool. Store the biscuits in an airtight container.
