Test report 6: We feel just great on our hygiene champion!

Ilka Bebek

It's been a few weeks now since our new hygiene champ moved into our bathroom. In addition to the highly practical functions, the design and the overall high quality, there is one thing that I noticed: a great, more pleasant feeling because you know everything is much cleaner than before. You can see that and feel it. No matter whether it's whilst cleaning or actually using the WC - one simply feels better and more comfortable! I am very happy about that. And of course I will recommend the WC to everyone, report on the Quick Release function and the great coating and how much time you save. But in particular I shall describe the good and clean feeling it gives you.

And I think it's time for me to thank Villeroy & Boch for the great support I have been given. Everything has gone well since the WC was installed - friendly, professional and helpful - just great! Thanks very much.

Test report 5: Our visitors also think the hygiene champion is great!

08 April 2015

Our product test of the hygiene champ from Villeroy & Boch is almost over. Just before its conclusion, my mother-in-law and I therefore raised our glasses once again to the new and hygienic WC. A special reason to celebrate is the time and effort I now save. As I already mentioned in one of my previous contributions, I'm a big fan of the Quick Release function. This alone already saves a lot of time and effort. Furthermore, I have a lot less cleaning to do as hardly anything sticks to the bowl.

My mother-in-law was also very impressed and shared my excitement. She thinks the WC is great and would also like to have one as soon as possible. And this how many of our friends and relatives reacted. They were also impressed, especially with the Quick Release function and also the open flushing rim. Many of them have never seen such a rim, but quickly saw the advantages it has for cleaning the WC.

I can thus say: I'm not the only one who is very happy with our new WC – our visitors also think the hygiene champ is great. Here's to the hygiene champ – cheers!

Test report 4: Less dirt and less bacteria

Ilka Bebek

Since we’ve had our Hygiene Champion I've noticed that less dirt sticks to the ceramic. You can already see by the water drops in the WC that the surface of the ceramic is somehow different - smoother and more dirt-repellent. This new surface is called CeramicPlus, which I have now tested.

Liquids don’t stick

Villeroy & Boch also gave us a blue test fluid. That is coloured water that shows you wonderfully how liquids behave in the bowl. I was really impressed! Without flushing, the liquid lands directly in the water. You can see that well in the video. It simply glides off the ceramic and is unable to stick - incredible. I’ve never seen anything like it!

A safe feeling

The Hygiene Champion also has an antibacterial surface. That’s something that’s not so easy to demonstrate so impressively, but I've read that it has been tested by independent institutes. That gives you a good feeling. I think that's what makes the Hygiene Champion a great choice, especially for families with small children. Put simply, you worry less. Thanks to the open flushing rim you can see that everything is clean and the AntiBac coating gives you even more certainty. You even dare to reach under the rim, something I would never have done in our old WC! With the Hygiene Champion however, that’s not a problem.

Test report 3: My favourite feature – Quick Release!

Ilka Bebek

As I already announced in my second report, today it’s all about the Quick Release feature of our new Subway 2.0 WC. I have to say one thing and that is I would never have thought that something could make me so convinced and enthusiastic. Our old WC was a conventional WC with a closed flushing rim and a non-removable lid. There were two main problems when cleaning: The first problem was the dirt under the flushing rim and the second problem was that it was so difficult to clean around the WC seat. You always had to first open the lid and wipe around the hinges from one side, then close the lid and wipe from behind as well. Even then you missed bits and had to repeat the process. That was very impractical and cumbersome.

It's all much easier now. If I want to clean the back of the WC, I simply remove the lid. This is done by lifting the lid by approximately 45 degrees and pulling it in an upward direction. That’s all it takes. No need to press any buttons – simply pull. This gives you a flat surface that is wonderful to clean. To attach the seat again, you just have to aim a bit and in no time at all it slides back onto the bracket and is fixed securely in place. This ensures that nothing wobbles. I think, besides the open flushing rim, this is a function that saves the most effort and time.

Test report 2: Really easier to clean!

Ilka Bebek

Our new Hygiene Champion is really easy to clean. We have been using our new WC for a couple of weeks now and have definitely noticed two things. Firstly, we have to clean less often. This is because it seems to take a really long time before anything adheres to this surface, thanks to the CeramicPlus coating! Secondly, I do not need as long to clean the WC. After 2 minutes everything is wonderfully clean. I even timed it once, otherwise I would not have believed it myself.

For me, it’s the open flushing rim in particular that simplifies cleaning and makes it a great deal more pleasant. You can simply wipe along it with a cloth. You don't have any inhibitions about getting into the open rim to clean it – after all, you can see that there’s nothing there. This generally makes cleaning the WC no longer such an unpleasant affair. It was completely different with our old WC. I’m sure everyone can imagine that it was not very pleasant to get under a closed flushing rim with just a cloth to clean there. You needed to use a brush to scrub it and at the end it was still not completely clean. Even if you had previously soaked everything liberally with a cleaning agent. That's another thing I no longer have to do. The amount I save in cleaning agents in the long run is well worth it.

The second really great thing that makes cleaning easier is the Quick Release feature of the WC seat. But more on that in my next report.

Test report 1: Just installed and already put to the test

Ilka Bebek

Our new hygiene champ toilet had just been installed, when it was put to the test. My daughter had a few friends over, one of whom made a beeline to the new toilet. I had just stepped out to go shopping and when I came back, it was the first time that I was truly glad we had our new hygiene champ. I can only imagine what our old toilet would have looked like. Her friend does not appear to know how to use a toilet brush, forcing me to clean the toilet for the first time since its installation. I just want to say that it was easy and everything was cleaned up really fast. And not just that. The filth on the bottom of the seat was also easy to get rid of. A little disinfectant, a cloth and everything was clean with just a few swipes.

The hygiene champ: a true eye catcher!

The new hygiene toilet mastered its first test wonderfully and I am completely satisfied. Even the first impression was good. Right after installation I thought: It looks great. A real eye catcher. The installation was also very easy, the plumber was finished in a few minutes. And something else: He left everything clean and tidy - fantastic!

After the first test I am very optimistic that the toilet can be kept clean over the long term and I will need less time for cleaning. I am looking forward to seeing what the test weeks will hold.
